AOB switch to Spod diodes needed?

I am going to tackle hooking up my Spod in a few weeks and utilize AOB switches. On the AOB instructions it mentions using a 1 amp diode for negative switched vehicles. Will this be necessary if I'm running the switches to the Spod?

The SPOD does not on the 4runner. I dont see a situation where you could modify it to do so. Though you will need a diode most likely on the illumination circuit for the switch or switches not to the SPOD.

In the end what do you plan on hooking up? Looked at the SPOD myself and it was a bit short for my needs, yet interesting in design. Especially the newer systems with cat 5 wring and network controllers.

I plan on using the Tacoma version. The wood guys said that's the one to go with for our vehicles. I guess I'll order these. 1 AMP MINI FUSE DIODE - 46880
And set them up in a mini fuse holder. I was hoping to not have to do it as its one more thing to do. I'll be running lights and a winch power cutoff switch through it to myAOB switches.

The wiring that they are talking sbout for the diode on the relay is not needed in this vehicle.

Damnit just bought 8 mini fuse diodes and mini fuse holders. There directions are deceiving since it says for "newer" vehicles use the diagram describing the use of diodes.

A diode is under a dollar it is of no worry wil not hurt it is like a one way street allow energy to flow only one way.

Yeah they were cheap. I should have studied the diagram a bit more. Since the spod is wired to the battery directly diagram 1 would be the way to hook the AOB switches up.

Yes, and you can run the diode from the dimmer wire to light up the switches to prdvent feedback to the dimmer, not the rlay in this instance.

Did you have to run an in-line resistor with AOB switch? My 2A fuse keeps blowing, and the best I can figure is the LED isn’t offering enough resistance to limit current through the switch.

I am using a sPod. I'm not wiring for negatively switched vehicles. That wouldn't make sense because the sPod is a standalone positive switched system. My wiring is below.

AOB ------> sPOD
Black ------> Green
Red ------> Accessory
Green ------> Red
Blue ------> Currently unemployed

When that blew the fuse, I swapped the AOB red and green wires to see if I had misinterpreted the wiring diagrams. That too, blew the fuse.

I am utterly perplexed at this point.
 
Dude wish I could be helpful but electric wiring is not my forte. What 2a fuse are you blowing? Is it the one in the Spod for each accessory? This I believe are higher amp fuses than 2.

There’s a 2A fuse that protects the sPOd circuit board. That’s the one that keeps blowing.

I got it sorted out. I still don't know what the issue was. I set the switches up again, and as if by magic it worked. Of note, my pin out was wrong. Instead of blowing fuses this time, the LED on the switch illuminated while the switch was in the "Off" position. I switched the accessory and power wire, and everything works right and proper. The proper pin-out is below. Hopefully, someone can get something out of this in the future.

AOB ------> sPOD
Black ------> Green
Red ------> Red
Green ------> Accessory
Blue ------> Currently unemployed
