So I have been on the wall between selling my truck or putting a ton of money into it. I just called RMS Off-road in LI (very friendly) and explained to them that if I keep the rig I plan on dropping 6k into it right off the bat. I said I was currently having issues with rubbing and have done all I can with trimming and even put a 1" bl on to help a bit. He replied by saying well thats the problem right there, you have a toytec ultimate lift. Let me rephrase, he did not bash toytec the slightest, he just said that its not a "true" suspension lift, and most people don't realize that. It was at this very moment that I realized, and I have no idea why I never noticed it before, that the toytec coilovers basically are on spacers. That whole 1 1/2" on top of the coil over is just a spacer! haha
Well I can't complain too much it was the first thing I installed and I knew nothing about trucks then. I will probably be selling these soon if I keep the truck as in I will most likely be redoing the whole suspension (AGAIN!) with a real kit to help fit the 35's I have, as well as regearing the differentials and adding in some arb lockers! (What the hell maybe I should go bananas and do a SAS swap, I wish). Keep a lookout in the classifieds section for a toytec ul with only 12k miles on it.
Btw if anyone from long island has any input on RMS please let me know. There isnt much written about them on here. But I was happy when he said most of the guys who work there drive toyotas themselves.
