I found a workaround. I just barely BARELY tap the seat forward. Even 1% forward, the creak is gone.
I always have to compromise somewhere. The 4runner actually has the least compromises for my height. (OK, the highlander was a little more comfy, but I didn't want a crossover.) It has more leg room than my Tundra. Less headroom. But better knee room!
4runner seat pokes me in the spine... BUT, the rear view mirror can be moved out of the way. My knees can move freely about the cabin, and while I can't straighten my legs out, I'm not in the 'adult in a gokart' position either.

Not sure what your warranty situation is but I had what sounds like the same creek fixed under warranty...it took them a couple of tries and I think they ended up replacing the seat frame itself...
Personally I love our 14' limited seats. Came over from 2012 Tundra which didn't have bad seats but the 4Runner ones really hug you in addition to being good quality leather. In leather they're not super soft foam compared to the Tundra, but I still find them very comfortable.
I'm 5'8 and haven't had any problems with seat or headrest digging into me.

Thanks very much for the info. I will try that and see if it works. My truck has 500 miles on it- so I think it should be a covered item?
Definitely covered. I had this issue in an 03 tacoma too. Took about 6 trips to the dealer to fix it. This time around, I'm just going to live with the workaround.

That's good news at least.
It's just SO noticeable, I wish I could be the guy who doesn't notice or care- but I'm kinda tall and can't afford to lose any legroom. Plus it kinda eats at me that the truck as 35K, and at that price the seat shouldn't click like the start of a wooden roller coaster.

Well I found this thread searching for seat durability issues as the 2014 model I just looked at is already showing signs of the drivers side seat fabric crumpling/rolling/accordion-ing up and its got 250 miles on it. Now I thought the seats were pretty comfy even if it was a short 20mins test drive but then again im coming from a 2012 Jeep JKU where the seats are pretty flat...im also a BIG guy...6'2.5" and 350+lbs with shoulders wide enough i usually have to get my suit jackets custom tailored so I dont pull a chris farley "fat guy in a little coat". I generally found the seats better than the JKU's as did my prego wife lol.
