Well technically you can be done in probably about 4-5 hours on the easy route. But, the harder way will take much longer. It depends on if the group in the easy round wants to wait for the group at on the harder route. Cleghorn won't be too bad since the harder sections are very short, and then reconnect to the easy trail. This will be easy for everyone to stick together. 2n17x splits off of pilot rock and doesn't reconnect for a while. It could be few hours depending on how much strapping/spotting we have to do. It is very possible the harder trails can take 8-10 hours. I'll bring a sleeping bag just in case.

Nah, no breaking. If I can't make it I'll back her down and go around and try the next obstacle, can't afford to break anything right now just spent my money on some new goodies. Nothing left for replacement/broken parts, lol.
Your rig will make it, no problem as well as @thesentinal
If I had a trail edition like you two I wouldn't even flinch or break a sweat.
S**t for me I double flinch, start twitchin and brake a sweat to make some of the shit we've done. Then get home and tally up the damages.
After all that there I am asking "when and where we going next"?
So all you lifted 4wd w/tires need to be giving that trail a whirl as well. We are all there to help each other with spotting, picking the right lines, or in deciding whether this one is better left to the big boys and move on to the next. We all get in and out one way or another together. That's why we do the group thing so you can try stuff you wouldn't do by yourself.

Yup ...always bring a sleeping bag and a couple basic emergency camping necessities. "Ya just never know, how a trail will go"
i might have to stay home. i have to be somewhere that night, don't want to risk not be able to make it home.

You can just run Cleghorn then, Cleghorn should be done with no later than 1

This was only towards the [MENTION=102715]CrazyNorwegian[/MENTION] and a couple us doing 2N17X the most difficult trail. Has nothing to do with Cleghorn or Pilot Rock those trails you will be home with plenty of time to spare.
So don't you dare be trying to back out, your going to have a great time I promise. I couldn't think of a couple better trails to get all together on that offer something for everyone. For beginners to get there feet wet on different terrain throughout the trails, with breath taking views the entire trail practically, you don't wanna miss out on this I'm tellin ya. Cleghorn/pilot rock are awesome!
The 2n17x you hear us talking about isn't even in the actual t4r plans for this meet. It just a few morons like myself that will branch off to see what our rigs can do, so we can bang on our chest and feel like big strong men. That's if a few of us don't get scared or can't make it.

Can't say I'll be scared, because I don't care about damage to the truck, I'd say I'm more nervous because I'll have my son in the back seat. Although after Gorman, I'm a lot less nervous about obstacles even with him in the truck.

If it comes down to it I will still be happy to run the group not going on 2n17x through pilot rock. I've been up 2n17x before, and know what my rig is capable of. Pilot rock still has a couple short black diamond offshoots that will be a great way for beginners to get some experience on. I can spot on those and teach a little 4x4 101 to anyone who wants it.

A noob like me could really use the help here. And it would be very much appreciated.
haha i was a bit sad when you said to bring a sleeping bag, i really want to go. so no i will not back out. i will run Cleghorn and just take the 138 back to the 15 home. also, do you think i would need to air my tires down on this trail, i want to invest in a tire inflator if i need to air down? again, i am really sorry for all the newb questions. and to make sure i am not in over my head, it is the trail below right?

Yeah you don't wanna miss this and to meet all the different people and see there rigs in person which is also nice cause you can ask questions about anything..lol.
You don't have to air down but I would cause it makes the ride much more comfortable for you and your rig, but most of all it allows for more tire surface on the trail giving you more traction with less slipping.
Your more than welcome to use my compressor for airing back up if you don't wanna drop cash on a compressor right now. And plenty of others will have them as well.
But if your wanting a good compressor with the most bang for your buck is the Masterflow Tsunami MF-1050 $45-$60 bucks which you can pick up at pep boys and if order it online usually u get a lil discount and pick it up at whatever store shows instock, or you can get it on amazon etc. a lot of guys here use them with good reviews. It's simple and gets the job done, faster than my Viair 85p that's for sure and there the same price.

Thanks, I have no idea how to properly tune the thing. I got a $50 cobra unit then spent 35 on the antenna.

I was thinking of taking the same route back home, since I have plans later on in the evening. I'll be there! Anyone coming out of the San Gabriel area and want to meet up before heading to Cleghorn?
