April 2016 Meet and Run

Have you done it yourself yet? If so what damage did you get?

A few years back I tried it. Got about half way through before the side of my truck was scraping against the side of the mountain. I backed out of the section at that point. The last part of the section consists of a rocky ledge that has a 3 foot drop off. That part sliders and skids are a must. You will also smash your rear bumper coming off of the ledge. It's all down hill so traction really isn't an issue. It's also a notorious area for flopping. The section is really short, anyone who doesn't want to attempt it can take the bypass, and watch the fun.

I'll be with the easy group due to having 2wd but won't be for long being that I'm in the market for 06-09 4th gen 4wd V8 so I can join the big boys.

please add me to the roster!! officially have the day off. leaving the kid w/ the wife while she pampers herself. But will not having a cb be a problem? you guys can just text me right? lol

My TRD Pro is supposed to arrive this weekend. I might be able to get it on 4/29. Would any of you take a new rig out with 6 miles on it? Or would you recommend breaking her in a bit?

The 4Runner prefers to be broken in on the trail.

In all reality tho, you aren't going to be stressing the engine very much here at 5mph. This isn't going to be desert racing. Although I may try to catch some airtime on the last section of cleghorn. Plus you can start getting those pinstripes early while the clearcoat is still thick.

Which one did you get? I need to get one before the run as well
I got this one Amazon.com: BaoFeng BF-F8HP (UV-5R 3rd Gen) 8-Watt Dual Band Two-Way Radio (136-174MHz VHF & 400-520MHz UHF) Includes Full Kit with Large Battery: Cell Phones & Accessories it was recommended by one of the members going. There were a couple handhelds mentioned, the one I linked above and a Cobra CB handheld. I like that the 2 way came with a rechargeable battery so I got it. Also from what other members were saying the 2 way will be a little clearer sounding.

When in doubt...flat out! Haha I'd just bring it, no sense in waiting if that's why you bought it for right?

FYI, I have an additional 5 or 6 requesting to add to the list...

So this puts us at almost 30. It really all depends on how many people want to run the hard trails, or easy trails. You can run a group of 20 on the easy trails no problem, but more then a group of 10 will be a traffic jam on the hard trails. we might have to spit the group into 3.

1 for easy

2 for people who want to test their confidence on the hard trails

3 for people who are already confident in the hard trails and can zip through them.

group 2 leaves first to give them more time on the hard stuff, followed by group 3, then group 1 who will be running at the fastest pace.

Now this may change when we get there and see how many show up. But, best to have a plan just in case

Count me in... Plus two:

FJ and a Taco

Glad your coming Marco. Is that your buddy's blue trail teams FJ that will be going?

Me too Andrew! Yes, I was talking about him... Looks like he won't make it though. So I'll just run solo.

I'm down for the hard stuff... Gotta test out my new Icon stuff :)

I might have a 4wd first gen Tacoma coming too, he was a little put off by the size of the group though so I won't know for sure until he either shows up or doesn't.

OK guys. I'm thinking of cutting the roster off at 30 for 3 groups of 10. I have to keep this manageable. I'll add those that have PMd today.

***First Post Roster Updated***

Currently on modifying the list into 3 groups. I don't think that we'll have an intermediate group, 1 difficult and 2 chalks of the easy. If there is anyone that 1. wants to be on the difficult list, or 2. knows for sure that a friend of theirs is coming, I would like to know.

I should have added everyone that PM'd me. If not, hit me up again. Give me a few minutes to finish building this list.

...organized now, I need you all to check the list, if you want to go difficult and I put you in easy, let me know. Drunner97 can I count on you to lead the second easy group, or were you going with the difficult guys?
