ARB 2004 4Runner V8 Review

The good folks at Toyota of Dallas showed me the ARB products installed on a new Taco. Even though I thought the new Taco was pretty much the same as the 4Runner, you can't just swap parts between them.

I will tell all y'all that this ARB bull bar is so well made that even I am impressed. The coating seems though enough to last the lifetime of a 4Runner. And that is a long time. I would still get the bumper painted to match my 4Runner color though. Maybe even LineX's color matched coating.

The differences between what I saw, and the above photos, were the added protection plates under the bumper. I would like to add these too, but was told they were custom.

I now have the new ARB catalog and am drooling all over it. When I come into a wad of cash this June, I'll be down at Toyota of Dallas to liberate several of these products.

Yes, the dedicated 4Runner ARB goods are on the way to these shores.

Here is my shopping list: ARB deluxe bull bars, ARB Air Locker rear differential lock, ARB protection step, and I hope the send the side rails which connect the bull bars to the side step protecting the front fender.

Do you know if the ARB roof rack will work on the GX? I have been unsucessful in getting any information from ARB about LC Prado equipment working on the GX. I would love to have the roof rack and side rails if they worked. I also would also love to know how you got your job. I am ready to quite mine and join the adventure. I have had the GX in Sedona. I did Broken Arrow trail. The jeep tours did not know what to think when I pulled up to submarine rock. Thanks for all the info you can get.

I would expect that both the rack and side rails will work with the GX, the unknown will be the extent of the modifications/fabrication required. I think both would look great on your grey GX (nice machine by the way)
