arb air locker installed where near san diego?......

im picking up a new arb air locker and live in san diego. wheres a good reasonable price place to have this done correctly? or anyone living near me that can help. thanks

I was talking to a friend last weekend who is a front end mechanic ,he worked for 4wheel parts (el cajon) for a while and says they have two guys that are qualified for this sort of specialty work .funny cause we just touched on the subject by chance (brought on by my curiosity for future upgrades and prior knowledge of his work background) no idea of cost,or a personal experience to go off.this was just a candid judgment of someone in the field of, saying that they took pride in their installs. i have personally never gone there . but on the same note i am looking for a local mechanic that does good with toyota's so i can relate with the search .10ac are you the one selling the rear member on cl ?

For stuff like this you'll want to check out the Truck Shop in Mira Mesa. They specialize in Toyota's, and do all sorts of off-road oriented work, including building full on race trucks, from start to finish, fabrication and everything. So for something like an air locker, where if you don't do it correctly, you'll have a bunch of problems, I'd recommend taking it there for sure. An ARB isn't something you want to cheap out on with a mechanic that's never done one before that's probably going to rush through it, IMO.

I will look into these guy's for sure,started looking into a specialized toyota guy. i also understand there is many options if $$$ isn't a issue.gearing and related work is specialized so it's good to know when someone is reputable .Thanks Kraze

Took the whole truck in. Was about $600 for labor (independent of the other work I had done). Seems reasonable to me, but I can't do that kind of work myself. They warranty the work for 3yr/36,000 miles also, which was also pretty cool for a part that could leave you stranded.

You'll need air (obviously), so that could be more, if you're not doing that part yourself.
