Looking at getting my runner locked....is it general conscious to get the arb air lockers??

that would be the popular brand.
there are many other options though, you can use a mechanical locker that engages when it needs to, a limited slip such as a true trac, or with a little axle housing modification you can use a toyota elocker.
The only other air locker I believe thats available would a TJM air locker. very comparable to the ARB however uses a different air solenoid design to ensure no oil can enter the air line. I attempted to install one of these however had fitment issues with it in my axle housing. oddly enough though as its made for my axle.
I now run ARB's front and rear. The only problem I've delt with on the rear is that the copper air line inside the diff housing has to go up and over the ring gear and back down to the inner axle bearing or carrier bearing, my copper line on the initial install started catching the ring gear and opened up a tear on the line itself I had to braze it back together. It worked flawlessly after that however in the last few weeks It seems to have developed another leak inside the diff. I'll have to go into it to see what the issue is. I haven't had one issue out of the front ARB setup. Not trying to steer you away from the ARB just wanted to share my experience.

Also check out East Coast Gear Supply. You can buy completely assembled, locked 3rd members from them. You can get a E-Locker, Automatic, or Air locker, they sell them all.
Another brand that wasn't mentioned is Yukon. They have an air locker called the Zip Locker and a automatic called the Grizzly. I'll probably get the Zip myself. It's about $200 less than the ARB.

Also you can put in a FJ Cruiser locker in there. Few people have done this at toyota120.com.
My 4runner came with a rear locker from factory but I would try to put in a FJ cruiser electronic rear locker in it. There are even companies that sell you the OEM wiring harness for the rear locker too.

If you are going to go through the trouble and expense of installing a selectable locker, install an ARB. It is also known that it will strenghten the carrier too.
The Toyota elocker, could be interesting if you were to find a totalled FJ Cruiser, and you could take the whole rear axle for dirt cheap, remove yours and just install the FJs'.
The elocker motor is vulnerable, and is also prone to debris infiltrating it, causing it to fail. And since obtaining an elocker or ARB from the diff place like East coast is about the same price, I would choose the ARB, actually I did.
I personally know 3 FJ owners, with a failed elocker, that ended up resulting in an exploded diff.
But if I had an FJ Cruiser or 4runner with elocker, i would just keep it until it breaks if ever
