ARB and 881's

About two months ago I put on my lift- 881 and 890s, no top out spacer. I wasn't planning on it when I ordered the lift, but I just bought an ARB this weekend. I know the 881s aren't ideal for a plate bumper, but was wondering if others have ton it. Did you go down much from 2.5"? How did it ride? Wish I had gotten 883s off the bat, live and learn.

the ARB doesnt weigh that much more than the factory set up, i think total weight on the ARB is like 78 or so lbs ad the factory is like in the 50lbs range youll be fine till you decide to add a winch

You should be fine with the 881's carrying the weight of the ARB, I also have recently upgraded to an ARB bumper and although I have a top out spacer, I haven't noticed any sag caused by the additional weight up front..I also feel like the front is more planted on the pavement and rides smoother overall.

ARB is more like 90lbs and stock is 20lbs-30lbs tops

my prado bar was 83lbs and its bigger than a taco bar. and yeah i was including the weight of my brushguard in the factory bumper weight so yeah your probably right

You might lose a little height, but I agree that until you add a winch it shouldn't be too bad.

I'd go with some top plate spacers in there and you will be good.

to OP when i took off my ARB my Eibach 650lb coils(3 inch lift coils) lifted up about 0.5-0.7 inch so 881 which is not rated for heavy bumper will sag 0.5-1.0 inch which sucks, i would suggest you to use either eibach 650lbs or 882 or 883 with topout, if i was you i'd go with eibach cuz 882 and 883 will sag over time

I have ran into the same problem, 881 w 1/2" spacer/890 lift (then the bug bit me) and want to get bumpers for the front and rear (maybe with a tire carrier).

Anyone ACTUALLY ran the 881 w/ a plate bumper? it sounds like it is possible but would like to get some actual experience if it is out there.

the arb is light, 78lbs the stock set up is around 30, that said i wish i had gone with the 881's as i dont plan on running a winch and the ride is super stiff...and i'm not happy with it at all, i'm ditching it for something else , like you i was worried about the extra weight and decided to err on the safe side and get the heavier rated coils, so take that for what you will, the bumper isn't heavy at all imo, i installed mine by myself, was able to lift it and mess with it easy enough, and i hate having to lift stuff, this was no bother.
