ARB Bull Bar Roofrack cable?

ok, so i saw this on the ARB website and i was wondering if anyone could tell me what the two cables from the roofrack to the bull bar is in the picture below. and why would one want to do that.

They are limb risers. From what I understand they keep limbs from smashing into your hood and windshield and damaging something. They would also be useful for visibility purposes. If you've ever gotten a leafy branch in the windshield you know how fun that is.

wow, thanks, could have used those two years ago before cracking my windshield on a low snow covered branch

where does one buy a set from other than making them yourself? arb?

not only do i like the function, i really like the look, did you drill holes in the brush guard hoops?

also i love the red lettering on your tires, did they come that way?
I, like many, have BFG AT's, but most people do black letters out, i did mine white out, i figured, hey, I paid for em, and they thought enough to write their names on them, far be it for me to turn the whites inward

I did bolt right through the bull bar hoops. drilled a hole. and capped the ends of the bolts to it wasent sharp when bumping up again them. The red lettering came that way! very fun! thank you!
 
What do you think is the best way to do this with only a center hoop bumper? I was thinking about making rubberized metal clips that slide on the edge of the hood. Or quite possibly something similar to the CB antenna mount some people have, just a right angle sticking up through the gap. Any thoughts?
