ARB Bumper Crumple Zone

Has anyone welded the crumple area on the ARB Deluxe bumper to make is stronger? If so how did you do it? Did you bridge the area or just fill the crumples?

I don't want my airbags going off when i'm off road taking out trees!

I can't speak to the "crumple zones" in an ARB bumper but your (front) air bags are triggered by an independent sensor that activates the airbag ignitor if the rate of deceleration of the vehicle exceeds a certain thresh hold. Bumper shouldn't have anything to do with it.

Crumple zones are more about absorbing and dissipating the energy of an impact so it doesn't get transferred to the driver or occupants.

if you apply enough force to smash crumple zones that force will just bend frame elsewhere its a bumper on a truck not a bulldozer conversion.

The crumple zone area on the bumper is what makes it airbag compatible. I had a land rover d1 with a arb non airbag compatible bumper that I could bulldoze small things out often with out tweaking the bumper. I don't want to tweak my front bumper from impacting a smaller objects. I know of land rover guys bridging the crumple zone on the new bumper to make them stronger. I just wanted to see if any runner people have. I want the energy to be transferred to any object may impact not the truck or bumper absorb the energy. I got the bumper to protect my vehicle from slow small impacts like deer and small trees.
