ARB Bumper or equivalent

Daughter got in an accident last night and crushed the front bumper of my 2005 4runner. Looking for a more rugged bumper. Not too worried about a winch or lifting truck, just strength. Any suggestions? Also, where should I look in Bay Area for used bumpers? Thanks in advance.

I have an ARB in mine and in very happy with it. There are many other manufacturers out there but many of them have long lead times, up to several months. Regardless of which brand you choose, you will need to modify your suspension to handle the extra weight, winch or not. Not doing so will cause pre mature wear of shocks and suspension components, as well as CV joints.

Go to arbusa.com and click on their application guide. Look up the 4runner and Taco bumpers for your year and see if the part numbers are the same.

I would suggest demello. I just recieved mine in the mail last week and it turned out great! Most companies have a wait time, i believe shrockworks is like 3-4 months, but demello got mine to me in 8 weeks. Derek G is right though you will need to change out front suspension to accommodate for the additional weight of these style of bumpers. I went with 08 fj cruiser coils and struts upfront, it leveled me out without the weight of the new bumper and with the bumper it sits about 1/4 of an inch above what it sat at stock.

Negative. Completely different platform.

The body panels don't line up the same as a 4Runner, though the frame may be similar (same 120 Platform, utilizes roughly the same suspension, engine, axle layout; though the Tacomas use leaf springs in the rear.)

I would also suggest demello. It's probably the lightest options you have but the sag and nose dive while breaking on the stock coils would get old quick. New lift coils with shocks would be the best option.
