Personally, I don't like the gap/opening on the drawer face. I prefer to have a sealed drawer. Doesn't have to be waterproof but sealed enough to protect electronics, guns, etc. that are more subject damage from moisture/dust.
The plus side is the modularity of doing different heights drawers to accommodate frig, etc.

Roller floor top options available but:
RDRF945 is 37.2" in length and will cover the trim piece on the floor and rear seat recline is limited. Don't know how much room that leaves between the hatch speakers and drawers face.

The RD845 is 33.37" long and better length but is not available with roller floor top. It is also 21.06" wide so if you have two side by side, you will have to use a riser as the bottom of the cargo area is only 41.5" wide. If you go over the little shelf on the bottom of fender bumps, you can go 43.5" wide.

Update from joneseyyy: the roller floor do in fact lock from the inside.

they can't do side by side on drawers less than 39" in length.
The max length in our vehicle ~ 35" if you want it to stop at the edge of the trim piece. Will depend on how much the rear seat reclined and height of drawers, but don't think a 39" drawer will fit.

No worries, I started a group buy thread there. It is now a feeler, but eventually, it can migrate and become the commitment thread. It is easier to not have the word feeler in the title, as title of threads cannot be changed.

I do need to call out a mistake in my post about ARB drawer roller tops not locking. They do in fact lock with a small knob on the underside of the drawer top. I've had the drawers for years and never notice it. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for that info. I was thinking how in the hell did they miss that in the design process. Stock just went up on the ARB in my book.

Yes, I agree it would be way out of character for ARB to miss something like that. I've had nothing but awesome experiences with both ARB gear and customer service.

At this point, I think the ARB solution is the best for us, both as drawers and as slider for fridge and gears etc.

Unless you are like my fellow SWAT officers, with majority of contents being restricted items, you probably won't need something as secure as the TruckVault.

I really wanted to put a ready to go AR15 in one of the drawers so thats why I was looking a the Truckvault which is more sealed.

But i'm open to the ARB. AT 37.2" in length what is the rear seat reclinability?
You have to remove the rear seat trim piece right?

i looked already. i believe the 1700 has 38.12" exterior length so don't think it would fit. If you got the truck vault, you would probably better to just use foam insert and do away with the case. That was my plan..

I concurred. If one have the truck vault, I think at most a soft case, no point of trying to use a hardcase. I had seen Suburbans with Truck vaults, fitted foam, awesome!!

It's incredible how expensive those things are. It doesn't make sense.

I'd been thinking about making a custom one for a while now and just tonight took out the slider tray to start taking measurements...

Will likely cost about 300 in materials at retail prices I think.

i know…. i would love to make my own drawers, but i don't have the tools/equipment to do a good.

I priced one out and it was 4500, a blanket is 20 so here I am.

If it doesn't fit my cases it's not really worth it to me anyways. I need to be able to more my stuff around and still be protected.

i know its expensive.. but going through the TX deal would give 10% off so that would be ~$1800 and who knows how much of a discount we can get through GB if they would even do one.

1.) We all know they are expensive and I can appreciate that. Hence why i am trying to see if we can do a group buy.
2.) There are people that can and will build their own stuff e.g.,

Gobi rack ~$1,500.. is expensive to me for some fabricated steel extrusions. But people buy the shit out of them whether they truly need them or not. People can also build their own rack for much cheaper.

Having established that, I want to try to keep this thread for getting a headcount on how many people are interested in doing a group buy.

If there is enough interest, jicko will reach out to the vendor and see what kind of deal we can get.
