Are roof racks interchangable bewtween generations?

I'm sure they're not but was just curious if all or some are. Since they're pretty basic I'd think they would be but do not know for sure. This question of course based on not drilling additional holes in the roof.

A lot will depend on how they attach--many use model-specific mounts that attach to rain channels and such, while others simply attach to the factory crossbars and could probably adapt to other models. Ones for later models may be a bit wider than for earlier ones, too. Your best bet would be to check with the manufacturers themselves. Go Bucks!
