Are there problems or glitches with T4R MPG readouts?

Are there problems or glitches with T4R MPG readouts? I realize the 07 V6 2WD SR5’s readout was frozen at 27 MPG regardless to dist or speed. I checked the manual and reset the mode w/o any calibrations or etc. It changed to 18.2 etc but locked in vs any changes as usually 17.5 in town and 21.5 on the Hwy. Should I have done more?

What would cause the problem and should other etc be checked (the truck seems to be running fine)? I called the closest Dealer with these concerns/questions and was told to bring the truck out (a Tech could push a few button to solve the problem). Did a lighting storm or what cause this or another computer glitch? Thanks in Advance! jow

The closest Dealer’s Service Writer and Technician covering this issue felt the MPG readout is basically a constant problem. They were surprised this was my 1st freezing issue. The truck is new to me 16 mo). The tech suggested resetting and refilling a couple of times to see if it will start working. The service writer suggested not spending a penny on the issue (which would be another computer?). I Totally Agree!

Has anyone tried monitoring with a vacuum gauge that show poor to good driving ranges due to the vacuums reading? This was my old method of monitoring late 60s on. jow
