Well each to their own.

As posted earlier elsewhere, last week my 2015 4x4 SR5 in Northern California was:

Sticker 36,499. Sale price 34,537 (+ tax and license) so 1,938 off MSRP, or roughly 5.4% off MSRP.

Aside from basic SR5 the upgrades on the sticker were the audio, running boards and floor mats.

I cannot see spending 6 to 8 to 10 grand for leather seats and cross bars. I know there are other farkels on the Ltd and Premiums, Trails, but for ME - the 2015 SR5 - the motor is the same, the Navigation and audio is brilliant and I just don't see any value to 20" rims (or whatever) and the like.

I traded in an 08' Sport V8. Had a sliding sunroof we never used (and limited the headroom). I think it had greater towing capacity than the 2015 however we really never towed much (one or twice in 8+ years on that vehicle).

I don't have any use for most of the add-ons that come with the upgraded 4R's. We do so little off-road (snow once in a while - death valley mild trips, once in a while) that the value of the basic model presents for us all the value we need. So match what you are going to use it for against what it has is my opinion, but YMMV. Good luck! :tea:

^ Right. And if you're getting the weathertechs or all-weather mats, make sure you aren't still paying for the carpet mats in the final price.

And be sure you like, and plan on keeping, the other options like the running boards, roof rack cross bars, etc. You don't want to pay and drive off the lot only to find that there are some very cool aftermarket options you would rather have spent your money on.

OP - this is somewhat of a wild guess but are you trying to buy through koons? I bought a brand new 14LE with many of those options for 38,000.

one difference was I didnt get the 3rd row which does add quite a few dollars

Oh, for heaven's sake! NewWorld's trying to buy a $40K vehicle and you're worried about the floor mats?

Here's a tidbit, which while not !00% true, is probably close:

NewWorld needs to follow the bouncing ball: financing, trade in values, an extended warranty for his demo vehicle, and all the rest.

You've transposed the price 38,900 vs 39,890. Regardless, to answer your question, yes, that's a damned good price imo. That's ~18% off msrp. Typical is 5-6%, real good is 10%. 6K is nothing to a 4R.

Assuming, of course, this is the model/features you want. Me, I'd work them for a good deal on an EW, to help cover the 6000 miles.

some how they increased the price now they are asking $39969.00 plus $3302.50 ( VA taxes, tags, freight & fees ). I told them I will look some where else, I am not in rush.
