Are you all getting brake checked as much as me?!!

I know this is random but ever since I got me T4R I've noticed that I get brake checked almost dailey. Now I'm not going to say it isn't my fault 100% of the time. My 4R is sitting stock right now and it seems like the height of the head lights perfectly shine right into the back of most vehicles on the road. I dont usually get checked during the day time its usually always at night or right when the suns going down. People don't seem to think twice about stomping on the brakes in front of me. I've not had this problem in any other vehicle I've driven so I thought what better place to ask other 4R drivers then on here. Do you feel like you get overly brake checked for no reason??? and what about you lifted 4R drivers...does it get worse after lifting? lol

Don't follow too close. My girlfriend tailgates the hell out of people without realizing it. I brought it up and she's getting better lol

I'm not going to say I dont tail slow people because that does happen sometimes on purpose but really really isn't the case most of the time. I know when i'm tailing someone and sometimes i get checked out of no where and i'm like for real ! i was no where near you. I really think the headlight stance is a big problem for other drivers. it seems to shine right into peoples faces

Get a dash cam, I love mine. Also, try pointing your headlights lower. My lifted 4R has a cutoff that is about an inch below the top of the trunk lid on a small car.

Do you get oncoming cars flashing their high beams at you as much (really more) as you get brake checked? If not its more likely your driving habits.

They're probably not dumb, your lights are probably misaligned. Adjust them downward and you should be good to go.

yeah i guess i need to check into that... i always runs fogs so you would think people would be able to see. hhmm his high beams aren't on because his foglights are on...

I rode around in a car that practically sat on the ground for about 6 years so i dont feel too bad for these people that keep getting mad at me. i got my fair share of blinding

Dude, you're the common denominator. My truck is higher than yours at stock height, and I'm lifted two inches to boot, and I don't get brake checked or flashed at all because I don't follow too close and I have my headlights aimed correctly.

Correct your headlights and learn to drive. You're a menace.

WOW the hole point of me asking was to see if other 4R drivers feel like they get checked way too often as well. to see if the headlight height was just perfect enough to blind everyone. maybe i'm a big ole retard my bad buddy. i hope you dont loose any sleep over this one

I get flashed all the time and I know my headlights are aimed properly. But I am running some nice PIAA Xtreme White that are pretty bright. Heck I even get flashed in my corolla with the same bulbs.. I think some people don't realize that just cause a light is brighter doesn't mean I have my highs on.

I get flashed from time to time by oncoming traffic even though I'm not using my high beams. Had only one brake check from these hooligan white trash kids. I didn't care at that point as they were just acting foolish. I am also lifted 3" with 33s. I was behind a police car for a while with my lights on and he never stopped me so I feel that mine aren't that bad. Re-aiming my headlights would probably be a good idea, although it always passes inspection with where they sit.

Like your camping pic man.... I worked at an RV dealership for 5 years, I'm pretty into trailer camping. love seeing a 4runner pulling a camper.

I'm going to pull mine into the shop here this evening and check the headlight aim. Tho i'm pretty sure they are fine. co worker of mine is suggesting that the fog light height gets into the side mirrors of cars from her taco and that may be what pisses people off. I know when I had my old car i kept the mirrors pointing down as far as they'd go because of blinding.
