Are you Happy with your 4runner LE?

So I currenty have a '13 4runner trail with KDSS. After having a GX460 for almost a week as a loaner I want to make the switch to the LE. I know it won't be the same as the GX but I really like the Comfort and Luxury features. I should have gotten the LE the first time around. Bought my Trail Edition New so hopefully I won't take too big of a hit financially after the trade. Are there any differences between the '14 and '15 LE? What do you like and don't like about your LE?

Yeah there's no comparison between the two. As far as ride quality goes for the Trail and LE I would imagine the LE is more cushier. I know I know TEST DRive right?

it drives a bit better but not enough that I would dump my current SR5 for it. The wood grain is cheap looking so other than leather seats I don't see the appeal of the LE.... especially with that God awful Chrome grill

2. the body mounts squeak too much for me, but meh. its fun driving over crappy roads and not giving a crap since its a BoF vehicle compared to my Subaru legacy I had and driving nice over that same crappy road.

We have had our Limited for almost 4 years now and lover it. I think my only real MINOR complaint is how the third row seats when folded down do not lay completely flat. There is a very slight angle to the back cargo area....so watch where you put the milk on the grocery runs! :thumb:

I know there are a ton of people on here who either love or hate the LE. Personally mine is stock so mods are not a big deal to me. My only mod is tent bag in the cargo area to carry a first aid fit, some tools, tie down cords, and some blankets. I also followed [MENTION=65614]Antman[/MENTION] did the head rest paracords for the crumb cruncher in the back seat. Also added the Husky floor matts.

I have a 2011 LE and I know the head unit changed a bunch so can not really comment on it. I do love the Party mode for Drive In and tailgating. The third row is nice to have for those occasions when you need it. The handling is honestly up to personal opinion. Here in the North East where "Lake Effect Snow" is a curse at times, I love the way it handles in the snow. Honestly though I think all the models will do just fine in the snow.

Over all we love our 4Runner. It is my first 4runner and my first Toyota product. I have never been disappointed, but mileage may very depending on your needs and location.

- No parking assist option (only the rear camera)
- The image from the rear camera is not as clear and bright as I had hoped
- I would prefer not to have 4x4 full-time, but would have liked to have 4x4 part-time as in the other models
- No locker option
- You are limited on tire size for offroading with the 20" rims
- 2nd perkdogs comment about the 3rd row seat
- The idle is a little loud (I took it to the dealer and they that is normal for all 5th gen 4Runners)
- When I press the brake pedal there is an audible "plunger" noise (also normal for all 5th gen 4Runners according to dealer)

If I had to do over, I would go with a TE or TE premium because I still want to do some moderate offroading.

Interesting. I found a way to take my LE off pavement. Just need to sell your 20s for about $1000 and get some 17s and your tire choice shoots up. If moderate off-road means what it means to me, you don't need to do much to wheel your LE.

I dig mine. Its been a great vehicle so far and plan to have it for many many more years. Small upgrades along the way, I'm sure.

I do mild off roading in my LE and I don't have any issues.

but then again I am solo so it doesn't take much to turn me around if I get any hint of insecurity of getting thru something.

Have you considered selling your truck privately to maximize its value purchasing GX460? I believe the GX starts at around 46k which isn't too far off from a limited.

Have owned my LE since new for 2.5 years. Love it. Sort of wish it didn't have 3rd row. Another inch of headroom would be nice. Auto-wipers would be nice. Full-time 4wd is great but, despite he EPA claims, I'm sure there is a slight hit to fuel economy.

Very happy. Don't see any reason why I wouldn't keep it 10 years.

I bought my limited because I do not want a 4runner without auto temp, memory seats, auto headlights etc. I never eally considered the others. I do wish the limited did not have the lower plastics hanging down so low though. I really like the chrome on my limited but I am old school. The limited rides pretty rough with the xreas suspension but handles great on mountain roads and has no nose dive. . The Lexus will ride much smoother.

Well I owe about $29k and have 21k miles. It might take me longer to sell privately than to trade it in. Will dealership go by NADA or KBB value? My local Lexus dealership have two vehicle that I want to take a look at. A '14 4runner LE with 18k miles for $39998 the other vehicle is a Fully loaded '13 GX460 Premium with Accessory F sport wheels and Front grille. The GX460 is priced at $47000 but its has 63k miles.

The two things I would change, if I could...get rid of all the gaudy chrome (I mean really, this much chrome on a vehicle went out in the 70's) and the 3rd row seats would go, mainly because I don't need them and they don't lay flat. True story...first trip to grocery store got home and pulled into inclined driveway. Opened hatch and proceeded to bring in groceries from driveway and street, where lots of things rolled to after they almost all rolled out of the back of the 4R. Not sure what designers were thinking there...

If I decide to get another 4R after this one and the next LE has all this chrome, I will buy a lesser equipped model so I can get paint matched bumpers, door handles, etc.

Big plus for me...15 speaker, kind of, JBL system. Sounds awesome! Not $15k custom system awesome, but for factory install...absolutely awesome!

Buy a huskliner for the rear compartment. It has a lip on the back that prevents things from rolling out.

Absolutely satisfied. While I don't off road it, as a trail marathoner, my 4R has gotten me to race starts in pouring rain, through deep mud, and safely through 14" of snow in Des Moines, where the daughter lives. It's comfortable and reasonably good on gas. 43K miles in 18 months. Running 275/55 tires on the 20" rims. Can't see getting rid of it anytime in the next 8 years. The rear door on a Lexus would, to me anyway, be a negative.

I actually bought the limited because of the front end. The redesign on the other models does not look good to me, but just a personal preference. Same as the front end and rear door on the 460. The chrome does not bother me, actually think it belongs on the limited, but mine is blizzard pearl so it shows less.

I drove many trucks, crossovers etc., and for me the limited T4R was the best combination of what I was looking for. Actually my wife's vehicle and she loves it. She is 5'3" and it fits her perfectly. She drove a Yukon for 15 years and it was just a tad big for her to park etc.
