With my XFL 12's tuned at 33, they peaked in the low-mid 40's on my ear-meter, that was sub up, port back though so it may be a little different firing at the hatch.

How do you like the xfl? Im considering getting back into bass..

Thanks for the compliment! No, I did not install any fans for the amps. The AQ20 has an internal fan and the Zukis don't need any. The ends of the amp enclosure are open for some air circulation.

Finishing up the pods tomorrow, hopefully I'll get them installed and post some pics of it.

I really liked the XFL's actually frequency response was great from the high 20's up to right around 65-70hz, they were very precise and never came across as boomy, they also played accurately at low volumes, which is pretty hard to come by once you get up to those levels of power handling, other subs I've heard that were comparable get sloppy at low volumes and are pretty mushy sounding when listening to anything but electronically created bass tones. Literally my only complaint was that they take a massive box, much bigger than any 12 I've seen that was even remotely close to their power level, 2 cubic ft a piece may not sound like much, but it's gigantic, the box for the 2 12's was nearly the size of the box I had my ZCON 18 in.

Yeah no kidding 2cuft a sub is a lot of space. Most I have built were around 1.5. Exception is the l7 which came out around 2.5 a sub.

I might have to pick up the xfl just to try them out. Add to my collection of subs that collects dust.

Finally got the pods for the AR3s done. Gonna mount them tomorrow and get some pics.

Finally got the pods in and mounted onto the A-pillars. When I installed them I found the paint did not match. Now gotta find SEM to match. Also It would have looked alot better if I had molded the pods into the A-pillars. Next thing is work on aiming the left tweeter at me, I have to turn it in more. Time to modify the sails. Here are some pics:

Also here are some pics of the current sub install. I swapped out the HFC4s and installed my Alumapros.

Dang! Now I feel bad for getting cheap Pep Boys sub-woofers! Nice job on the pods. I'm quoting a post from my build thread as a color suggestion. Hope it helps! If you'd like a pic comparing it more closely to any other interior trim, let me know. Not entirely sure if the A-pillars are a lighter color.

I managed to repaint my FMU to better match the rest of the interior. Looks waaaayyy better than the matte sand color.



Used SEM's Monterey color spray paint. Pretty darn good match for the dark brownish interior pieces like the dash and the original overhead console.

No problem. Here's a comparison shot between a grab handle cap and my FMU. As you can see, it's a shade or two darker, but I think the contrast looks good. It'll definitely match against the darker color of the leather on the dash and doors.

I agree. I would rather have it darker, lighter shade stands out a bit too much for me. Thanks for the comparison, Monterey it is!

Update to sub system again. So I switched out the Alumapro MX12s to something smaller like almost half the size:

It's four DDSW6.5s in a T-Line box. They go amazingly low for 6.5s.
