Just got a 2016 4runner TEP with KDSS. I was wondering if anyone here can give me some advise on what kind/brand of rock slider to install. I'm thinking the kind that mounts flat with plate on top. Also, the kind that is bolt on without any extra holes to drill.

Hey! I also just recently got a TE w/KDSS and got the BudBuilt sliders. They fit all of the factory holes. I had to disconnect the brake and KDSS lines and take off the gas tank skid plate (temporarily), but was a fairly straightforward install. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

I think you are talking about the ones from C4. Just bought mine, haven't installed yet. The pics that I have seen look really nice, and install is easy.

I ordered Shrockworks with the plate. They said 6 to 8 weeks. I'll see how it looks when I get it. Should post some picks of your budbuilt ones.

This was the first trail I did when I bought my 4runner. I did it bone stock with the paper license plate still on the back. it is a fun area though! You would be surprised what they can do stock.

Planning a trip to Saline Valley Springs in Death Valley NP in October. Anyone been there through South Pass Saline Valley Rd? By reading road conditions it should be fine with 4runner.

Thanks for the response. I've Been to Death Valley NP couple of times but not the off road stuff. Was going to Race Track with the CRV (2wd) but turned around. I'll report back after I come back from the Saline Valley trip.

So we ended up going up to Payson and took the truck to the Black Canyon Trail. I have to admit that I was a little scared going up a rocky road at about 20 incline but it handled it flawlessly! The whole trail, it felt like the 4runner was at home.

However, I did not like the driving on the highway! No power at all... going up a hill felt like a Semi with a full cargo. Also, visibility is pretty bad. The rear view mirror blocks my view when turning right on a curve (I like seeing where I'm going, I don't keep my eyes just looking up front).

Anyone else having this issue? If so, how did you solve it? I literally had to duck to be able to see. I'm 6'2 and 230 pounds. Nothing too obnoxious.

Just wondering did you have to tighten the bolts on slider using a torque wrench? Also did you use lock tite on bolt threads? my Shrockworks in coming in couple of days.

I tightened all bolts by hand and used no locktite. Have had no issues since/yet
