Arrrg- stuck T-Case 24mm Nut...

So I'm following the useful guide linked below and just get started and notice the 24mm fill bolt on the tcase looks really torqued on complete with some indentations from some previous hack job.

I sprayed on some WD40 to let it soak. I don't have a pipe to use for leverage so I might get one of those and give it a try. Either way it is on there tight. Part of me wants to wait and just let the dealer mess with it later. Any last tips before I do that?

have some patience maybe. best of luck man. I am doing mine tomorrow on the rear diff and will spray it down today. the stealer was the only one to change the fluid on mine so i hope they didn't screw my diff bolts. @ 36ft lbs, one would think that it would not be that big of a deal to unbolt them huh?
Keep trying and let us know what happens.

PB Blaster, let it work for a while, and then a cheater bar. Be sure that your socket shows no sign of wear.....otherwise, Good Luck!

Try some heat.

Got it easily free after reading up on similar cases of stuck bolts.

The key was using a 6 point 24mm socket and a soaking of penetrator oil.

Whoever worked on it before rounded the bolt because they probably used a 1" socket which is 25.4mm.

As backup I had a propane torch and breaker bar on hand. A decent breaker bar can be had for $8 at Harbor Freight.

PB Blaster or any other Penetrating Oil plus a Breaker Bar and/or pipe if needed.

haha plus $5 to grease the palm of the guy at Meineke for putting my ride on the lift and using a combination of a large hammer and various applications of impact wrench to get off the last bolt on the rear diff.

My local Toyota has a new 24mm fill plug on order for me so I can replace the rounded one. Cost around $6

This is a major project and it is on a frequent schedule of 15k miles which is not typical. But it is done and I know it was done right. Also, it is a good time to learn how to drop the spare tire before you actually need it...
