Autbond's '06 SE Build Thread

you should look into the bajarack roof rack, its def the best out there! great bang for your buck and built specifically for the 4th gen

Baja Rack

and the truck on that page is also pretty freaking sweet if i do say so myself :)

hey whats the part numbers for the LED turn signals and the LED running lights in the projector housings? and where did you get them from?

also how do you do the fog light mod without the headlights on?

-i have the same bumper as you, i like it with the stinger, not on my own rig but looks good in your application

These bulbs were off of superbrightleds.com. It is a great site and has been around for awhile.
This is for the running lights, not the daytime just the little one's below the turn signals:
WLED-xLX 1Watt LED Wedge Base bulb | $ 9.95 |
Cool White WLED-CWLX

This is the front turn signal/daytime running light:
1157 (BAY15D) - Dual Contact and Dual Intensity $17.95 a piece

This is a pic of the turn signal bulbs, crazy looking.

As for the fog lights without the headlights on, I had them hooked up to the switch that the lights that were behind the lower grill with the stock bumper were hooked up to. and stinger?

Also, thanks yours is one of the one's I like the best on this site!

Looks great!

One question: I was under the impression you could not run a Schrockworks style bumper on a 4R without coil-overs. Does the weight not cause sag issues in the front?

For now, the only plans are replacing the suspension, 1.5"BL and 35's this summer as well as a roofrack and sliders. I would love a rear bumper at some point and a train horn to mess around. Then hopefully soon after that I will be putting this truck to the side for a little while and modding an E60 M5.

I am not a fan of that bajarack basket but If you end up getting that one...make sure you send that site a Pic of yours so they can put a real gorgeous runner in the main page...yours even without the rack looks 1K times better... ;).. :peace: JMHO....

Thanks, and yes it has sagged a little but not really nearly as much as I thought it would. Also, under no circumstances would you have to buy an entire coilover kit; they do recommend a heavier duty, stiffer spring on the front. The reason I didn't do that is because I wanted to wait and do a Body Lift and a full suspension replacement this summer, so I thought it would be fine for a few months to leave it with the stock suspension. The drive of the car hasn't changed a bit since I put the bumper on either. The only thing is the truck before did not rub at all after I had cut everything and then the bumper was put on and now it rubs again when turning the wheel all the way and backing uphill.

How is the vision at night with the 30 on the windshield? Restricted at all if little? I live in CA, where nothing is street legal, what is it like in AL? Cop issues? I thought about doing 50. I tint windows myself so I can always so a different VLT it needed.

Yea I remember you telling me that you tinted windows. Vision wise it doesn't really effect IMO, but other people may tell you differently. Cops, yes it is an issue it dramatically darkens the outside of the vehicle and there isn't any state that allows tint on the windshield, w/o a prescription. I actually got my prescription taken up because this douche bag cop said that he drove over to my doctor's office and asked him if there was a legitimate medical reason why I needed my tint that dark and he said no, because there's really not. Why in the world does tint bother cops that bad, especially when they know me here, is beyond me but it does and now I am going to have to strip the two front windows and probably the windshield, AGAIN! and get them re-tinted AGAIN!

Adding 30% tint to the windshield definitely reduces night vision. I have 45% on mine and I wouldn't recommend going any lower than that.

That was actually in Morris, right above b'ham.

Ahh ok I just recognize the trees and landscape, that mud sucks too.....

Took us about 12 hours to get him out, he was so twisted in that hole that his hatch wouldnt even close in the back due to the latches not lining up.

I had 30% on my '06 Mustang GT and it definitely reduced the night vision in it, but for some reason in the 4R it doesn't get me that bad, but I definitely would not go below 30%; there are people that go to 15-20 and that is not safe at all. I like it alot and wouldn't change it, 45-50 is really kind of pointless for darkness, but good for the dash for sure; and probably helps with the heat

Holy crap, how did he get like that?! Yea, the latches wouldn't line up because it's a jeep haha, no but that is a cool pic.

That's one sweet 4runner!! I love that bumper, reminds me a lot of the custom one I have on my Silverado, can't say the same for the AU plate though ;)

you are literally the 3rd person that has said something about the AU tag, haha. Oh well, we will see how it goes this year ;)! Thanks though!

I told him to go over the logs a little to the right of the picture and of course his heep mentality took over and said lets hit this mud hole over here..... which ended up being a bajillion feet deep filled with little bricks, lol so not only were we cold and muddy but we were getting the shit beat outta of us by bricks in the mud.....
