Autbond's '06 SE Build Thread

so sick!! and im so mad, i wanted to be the first 4th gen with train horns!!!!!!!!! im getting some soon where do you plan to put the horns? behind the bumper

That's where I am trying to put them. Tank in the rear where the spare was and compressor haven't decided yet.

yea im keeping my spare when i get 33's just for extra weight to keep the rear end down and give more traction. might be able to fit the tank back there with it too
will have to see when the time comes

Damn! I need to get this finished. I did fiberglass work on my spare grill more than a month ago but haven't had the time to finish. It looks great. Keep the V8 off. I'm worried it will look too cluttered. Just the fj40 "TOYOTA". But I don't even know about that. It looks damn clean as is.

Good stuff!

Here is the grille as it sits now. I decided on using both the Toyota emblem and the V8 emblem both painted white. I will have to post pics but there is another guy on here, I think, that cut the center caps so they were sitting more flush with the wheel spokes. I got the idea from a guy on an H2 Forum, haha H2's make me laugh, anyway I did this mod also. Done a couple other things, haven't had time to get pics of them all.

I really enjoyed looking through this thread. The truck looks really good! I like the headlight and grill mods. Did you use the Lamin-x film on your tail lights?

When I was at AU there was a place called Planet X. I have no idea if it is there anymore, but then again I graduated in '94...lol. War Eagle!

I used RVinyl's film for the tail lights; but they have since been re-done because of some cracking in the film. I used this stuff called night shade and did two coats of it, then two coats of a clearcoat and then one more coat of night shade and one more layer of clear coat. They turned out great, I will be posting more pics next week when I get my camera back. Also, after the train horn is installed; which was supposed to be yesterday but that didn't happen. Thanks, I am enjoying the grille and headlights as well as there not being any chrome left on the truck. The guys actually painted my trailer hitch black, and re-sprayed rustoleum all underneath so the underneath looks like a half way done new undercoat I guess you could say

That's sooo sick. Props to having the nicest truck in Auburn. Such a clean 4runner. And Momo planet x is pretty much gone. They built a new road cutting straight through it pretty recently

I figured it had to be gone by now. I can't remember all of it but I remember there was one part where we had to ride in the creek bed and go through the drainage culverts under I-85 to get to the other part of the trails.

This is what I had back then.....It doesn't look like much, but it was a beast.

it was an '83 SR5 with 4.5 suspension lift and 3" body lift. Those were 38" x 12.5" Super Swampers......this thing refused to get stuck.

Put a picture of the Auburn emblem painted black, the toyota emblem painted black, and the new tail light tint.

nice, some questions, can your tail lights be seen from 500 feet? if not your asking for a ticket

why put horns in back where spare used to be?

did you paint your rear axle?
