Auto Armor Paint Protection

When I purchased my 2003 4Runner Limited back in May, I had the dealer apply a product called "Auto Armor Paint Protector". It is the iniital application in what they call "Auto Armor Environmental Maintenance System".

I have a bottle of Auto Armor Paint Protection Cleaner / Renewer which the dealer gave to me to apply every 6 months. The question i have is what is it, what does it do, and does this take place of waxing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

This is one of those items those in the car biz would call ADP -- Additional Dealer Profit -- it's not any better than a quality car polish/wax available at a parts store...

"Ever notice that the folks who complain about the price of a gallon of gasoline are the same one's who'll gladly pay about $3-4/gallon for bottled WATER?"

High-Priced Dealer Add-on. Not worth buying. No protectant/wax/polymer last more than 6 months to a year.

Cut your losses, just use the stuff according to the directions. I would use a clay bar first.

When it is gone get good quality polish and wax from the autoparts store.

I always clay bar before a polish and wax.

The dealer got you good. :xnuts:
