You be surprised how many dealerships will give out t-iv or ws instead of a Dexron III compatible fluid even though there are service bulletins about not using t-iv or ws in Dexron III applications

No problem sir, and oh damn...yea I'm glad I didn't get one of those people lol...I go to the same dealer every time because the shop I work for has an account with them, so I just pay COD and get the discount & tax exclusion ha ha

they better not hurt my baby with wrong products, or I'll tell my manager we need to switch locations

It's really bad like [MENTION=8262]badluck[/MENTION] says. They will hand you t4 or even ws and tell you it's good. Meanwhile those are known to slip in our 3rd gen transmissions. If you search the forum posts you see technical bulletins that I and other posted about the fluid...

I have zero clue if it was ever serviced around 200k which I why I was thinking about replacing the fluid entirely with OEM Fluid

Catching up here: I go by color and viscosity test between forefinger and thumb further the oil stretches
as fingers separate better the oil condition is.
Your making good choice changing fluid, A340F's pretty damn tuff.
