Autohome + Baja Flat Utility Rack | Mount modification questions

I'm running an Autohome Airtop mounted to a Baja flat utility rack. The fit is perfect, and I have zero complaints about the pairing. One detail I like is that the base of the tent is completely flush with the entire rack. Fully supported.

I recently picked up Baja's awning mounts and, as flat as they are, the mounting hardware is not all that flush with the surface of the rack... They protrude about 1/4 of an inch above the rack's surface. This unfortunately will created two high spots under one side of the flat base of tent. I suppose I can add some sort of a spacer under the tent mounts, but I'm not sure if I should care (or not) about the tent floating about 3/8ths above the rack's surface. Essentially the tent will only be supported by the spacers at the mount points.

Has anybody seen, or have any ideas, on a different way to consider solving this?

find a local person who has a milling machine and have them shave off the required amount. should only cost you a 12 pack.

Ran into that problem with my K9 rack, but to a lesser extent (awning mounts to the side rail of the rack- simply spaced the tent about 3/8" to one side). Thought about running a spacer too but ultimately decided to leave it flat against the rack floor for better stability.

If you still want the entire RTT floor supported by the rack itself vs. set on top of mounts, one option is to bolt the awning to the rack side tubes instead of using the Bajarack mounts. Fourtreks sells a very hefty mounting system that mounts to the side bar but its about 1/2" thick if I recall correctly so the tent will need to be offset.
