Automatic Transmission Dipstick Difficulty Returning

I am having a real hard time getting my transmission fluid dipstick back in it's place. It slides about 75% down really easily and then it is very resistant to go in past that. Should I just push it really hard, or should I get a new dipstick? Would a new one even help?

My tranny fluid dipstick is the same way. It goes in smooth with no problem but then its a pain to push it in. I just use some muscle and try and work it in and it eventually goes in. Just dont know why it does that?

OK I will push it "real good". I will hope nothing breaks.

As far as i know,it should not break because the dipstick seems very flexible. Just be cool and dont loose your patience

I needed to twist it a little bit too. Surprised they make it so awkward. I had been driving a few days without it which is a pretty bad idea.

I lost patience and broke it and had to drop the oil pan to take it out the remains. I can't believe how hard it is to put the dipstick back in.

yeah i am a tech at toyota...gotta do the twist....lol, we do it all day long
