Here is a weird one...when ever I go threw a car wash, my 97 T4R turns on the windshield wipers by it's self. After diving down the road a ways (5-10 minutes) they will turn off. Is this common? She's at 269k. Wiper motor case seal gone? Thoughts?

Definitely a short. Off the top of my head I can't think of any 90s cars that had automatic wipers, and certainly didn't become standard/commonplace until the last 10 years or so
