Aux. input on factory radio?

I have an '04 Sport with the factory radio (Cassette/CD) I want to add a Stratus 7 Sirius tuner.....does the factory radio have an aux input somewhere on the back?
I really don't want to go the modulated FM route...

No, and unfortunately there aren't any easy options for the 03-05 radios. I wound up installing a Scion headunit, since it's the easiest route to get more input ability. Should be able to find a unit under $200 that's more or less plug and play.

There is an easy AUX and/or Bluetooth option. Its called GTA Car Kits GTA Car Kits | iPhone, AUX and Bluetooth integration.

I have the aux only. It was about $95 shipped. As long as you can remove the stock radio, this unit simply plugs into the CD Changer slot on the rear of the unit. No splicing, no cuting, no wiring. I had it in within 30Min and all panels back together.

Search YouTube for "2003 4Runner removal GTA" and youll find the install using this kit.

Its super easy.

Interesting, did you have a JBL or non-JBL truck? Mine was a JBL, and I sure don't remember there being a CD changer port. I looked into all sorts of options and couldn't find anything short of opening up the radio and soldering some leads to a board.

I actually did one in my wife's 03 with JBL and my 04 with the lowest grade unit. When Theres not a free CD Changer slot in the JBL, so you unplug the CD plug in the rear (yes, it disables the CD player) and plug in the included plug with GTA Car Kit. All steering wheel controls are kept and work like normal.

In my lowest grade unit, the CD Changer slot is empty so I just plug it in to the empty spot. The YouTube should show that as well.

We love it and it was nice to keep the steering wheel controls. Works perfect -- we just can't use the CD player any more, which we don't anyways. That would be the only drawback I could see.

That's really good to know! I just may go that route...that'd accomplish what I want to do

Well, I just purchased this. I figured for $25 it was worth a shot. The GTA kit follows the same procedure but is $60 more. That said I have yet to receive the module and install it. If you are interested, I will let you know how it goes. Maybe someone has tried it and can chime in.

Another happy GTA bluetooth user here. I've had mine for 6 months or so. JBL Synthesis stock headunit. And the hands-free kicks ass. All the bells and whistles of those flashy aftermarket headunits but you retain the stock look and steering wheel functions.

I realize this is an older thread but I'm a newbie so I'm crawling all over this site learning so much that I can't help myself. I bought the Sirius/xm and I took it back out because I want the clean factory look, but after reading this I'm going to give it another try with the wires tucked behind the dash. The fm modulator was the ugly part and of course sound quality was an issue. I can get around the power hrs wire through splicing it with the acc next to the shifter (any thoughts there?) but when I took the radio out to look at the back and couldn't find an aux plug I gave up on the project. Thanks you for the inspiration to do it again!
