AUX plug too long?

Before anyone crucifies me I tried to RTFM and I searched on these forums and on Yotatech for about 45 minutes now and can't find the answer. I bought a male to male "miniplug" (3.5mm, the standard headphone size) to plug in to the aux but it won't fit. It's not a problem of diameter, it's just like it's too long. It will only go in so far and then I can feel it pushing on the back of the aux port. What freaking size do I need everything I read just says "miniplug"?

Well if it helps, that looks like the correct type of plug. So, not sure why it's not going into the hole, but it's not because you need a different type or size of cable.

That definitely helps me eliminate the cable as the problem. Now how in the world do I get to that little thing to in order to see what is obstructing it.

Prob gotta remove part of the console?

Stupid question... but are you still under warranty? Perhaps ask the dealer?

Finally took it into the dealership to get this looked at. After an hour of labor and $110 later they tell me there's a pebble in the jack and they can't get it out so that'll be a $300 replacement. I said forget that, for that money I'll just put in a new head unit and get Sirius!
