AVS Bug Deflector II and 2014 TEP

I orderd one of these, got it all mounted.

It fir on the hood correctly, but then I could not close the hood.

Looks like the they don't fit on the 2014 TE.

Hmmmm. I have one on a 14' Limited and it works perfectly.

I saw pictures of it on 2014 Limited's, so I presumed it would fit the TE.

No dice.

Send a picture of it mounted. I didn't think the trail edition hood was any different. People swap Trail / SR5 hoods. I have a 2014 SR5 and it fits perfectly. If you got the right deflector it should work. What model number is it?

I just received mine yesterday and installed it. It works perfectly with mine. I have a 2014 TE as well.

Hopefully this was fixed on the newer models, but on my 4th gen, the AVS bug deflector destroyed my hood paint b/c it basically rested on the hood without any buffer. Just something to keep an eye out for.

The model number I bought is: 25053

The area of the shield that goes over the middle grill was molded to large it looks like. When mounted to the hood, the bulging part of the deflector interferes with the closing of the hood.

There is little to no adjustment of the deflector forwards, unless I elongate the mounting holes. Not worth it to me. I'll jest return it and get a refund. Most likely just going to get the front edge of the hood and fenders wrapped.

That's the one. It must be damaged or defective, it should fit perfectly. You could try another one at some point.

the little rubber circles with sticky tape on one side are supposed to be placed on that leading edge to prevent it from touching the paint and causing that damage.
