I've seen this one before--always makes me wonder just how ungodly fast he must've been going when he hit that thing. It's not like he hit a skinny spear--that's a massive chunk of metal with an awful lot of resistance. Amazing.

I am not one for "lets make a law" but the text issue is becoming worrisome.
Every credible research shows that using a cell phone pushes the risk of accident through the roof, for everyone. The joke on research used was the moment you use your phone, no matter how good you are, you instantly turn into a senior citizen in driving.
I am not sure what the solution is. For teenagers it is probably some form of blocking. Auto makers and cell phone companies are starting to offer lock down devices that will limit the phones use, while the car is in use, to ONLY 911 calls. If you want to call or text you usually have to have the car in park and not moving. Some use the cars GPS, others use the cars ECU to tell if it is in drive.
For adults, it obviously gets trickier. We can pass a law, but no one follows it.

There are already laws against driving distracted. I'd love to see a little more enforcement of those before asking for new laws.
