For the OP, how/where did you get this done for $19? Did you check with your dealer first or was it they who charged for it?
I've yet to get my first service but was planning on asking for this disconnect when I do. What options are there if the dealer refuses on liability grounds or something else.
Also curious if the front passenger seat chime is tied to the same shutoff for the driver seat. One could say they have to haul something on that seat and need the chime disabled for that reason. If the dealer plays the liability card.
 
When I took mine in for its first service, I listed off a multitude of options I wanted changed, and threw the seat belt chime somewhere in the middle. They disabled it without saying a word. Others members on here have had much different experiences, and it really varies dealer to dealer, even though the owner's manual states that disabling the chime is an option.
 
Mine was also done for free. I had it done with a few other options that I had them program when I first bought it.
 
Was wondering if anyone has started a list of programming options that can be done. There must be others worth doing besides the seatbelt chime, but I'm drawing a blank.
