I need ideas to save my CV boots.
When I put my 3" lift on, I neglected to install the front diff drop, and it wore out my CV boots (one on each side) fairly quickly. Though I expected it, since they were the original axles and boots (runner is a 2001 and installed the lift Jan 2015). So I just decided to replace the axles with new from O'Reilly's, still not putting on the diff drop. Well one boot on each side worn out eventually, so I got new axles again, since the ones I bought were lifetime warranty and I just had to exchange them. Only this time I installed the 1" front diff drop. This was some time this past fall, and one of the CV boots is already torn.
Is there something else I can do to extend their life? Is there a tougher type boot I can use? Or is this just going to be life from now on?
