Axle diferences from 98 to 01

Hey guys, I'm on the market for a rear axle, and i have a 98 4x4 with ABS, and 4.10 ratio. Today i saw a rear axle from an 01, with 4x4 ABS and 4.10, but also has the center diff lock. Is this axle the same? Can i still use it regardless of the center diff lock? Are there any dramatic differences that would keep me from using it??

Yes, you can use the axle. The center diff lock doesn't pertain to the rear axle/diff. Any rear axle from a 3rd gen, as long as it matches your specs (4.10 gears, ABS), will work. I have a '99 with a '97 rear axle.

FYI , the newer axle has two rubber brake lines on it while the old on will have one single line.

You will need to swap brake lines.
