I've got an 85 4runner with the 2.5" OME lift installed. I'm noticing a disturbing "thud" when taking off from a stop as well as when shifting into 2nd. I had the wife drive back and forth in a parking lot and noticed the rear differential appears to jerk upward slightly when abrupt clutch movements are made.
I've read on the forums about people using anti wrap bars but it usually seems to apply on more aggressive lifts. I feel like something must be setup incorrectly but I'm not really sure where to look. I torqued the u-bolts to 90ft lbs. I also pulled the driveshaft and checked the pinion flange. The nut was able to moved by hand so i tightened it down. As i haven't had the truck long, i'm not really sure how tight to torque the nut; I tightened approximately 50ft lbs of torque. Unsure if it would come into play for my axle wrap issues but i figured i'd throw out all the information i have.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
