Yeah, i too wish for a larger fuel tank, now that i’m averaging 19mpg i really feel it.
I refuse to take loans or lease vehicles. We bought the 4runner with tax money and work bonus pretty much. You probably made the right choice not buying a Cherokee, they aren’t what they used to be.

Just a little update on the brakes:
Install is insanely easy for anyone who hasn’t done this. Honestly the toughest part was getting the damn brake line threaded into the calipers. A few EFF bombs were dropped. trimming the dust shield could be done with a good pair of tin snips and some sanding paper to clean it up if you don’t have proper tools.
Performance So Far:
Wish I would have done this much earlier than I did. Vast difference in braking. Just feels more solid and consistent. I took the time to do a 4 corners bleed with a vacuum using DOT 4.
We will see how they do once i’m loaded up and traversing the mountain grades to get to cooler weather this summer.

So I had 10 days off with the plan to be off pavement from the valley to Flagstaff for the expo but as usual adulting got in the way and a $500 vet visit kind of out a damper on plans. Instead I took the opportunity to do some maintenance.
Added Dif spacer finally.
Replaced driver side CV (will reboot OEM Toyota one at a later date)
Replaced driver side UBJ.
Added longer front sway bar links.
Added Eibach front springs.
The Eibach springs went on existing Tundra 5100s. Much smoother ride than what I had on there before and I got about an extra inch of lift. I’m almost at 23” which is the sweet spot.
I’m waiting for some OME 861s and some Bilstein resi shocks for the rear suspension to show up in the mail. TAKING FOREVER!

By the way, if you EVER want to deal with coil springs I HIGHLY recommend the compressor below. It makes it so easy and safe. Plus you can put it on the rear springs in place once you remove your spare tire. No more having to finagle them out using catawompus methods.

I sure hope so. He is a 9 year old great dane. Somehow he got a bone infection in one of his toes and antibiotics for bone infections are $$$. I hope to take him on a trip in the 4runner again soon. For such a big oaf of a dog he loves off-roading.

So one more piece arrived today.....
OME 2861’s. Got tired of riding bump stops on multiple owner, tired FJ80 springs. I like the stance my runner has now. A little bit of rake is good with me.
The first one was a PITA to swap out, but it was totally my fault....if you look closely at the first pic you should see why. The other side took all of 10 minutes once the tire was off.
Tomorrow, another piece shows up, if FedEx gets their ish together.

By chance do you have any, or could you take a couple, close up photos of how you mounted your roof rack?
I've got the same set up, but have it on the factory cross rails at this point. I'd like to mount it directly to the rails but the rack is about a half inch narrow.
I really like the way yours looks and would like to replicate.

yeah so the Curt rack doesn’t line up well so you have to angle the holes. Was a PITA. the front feet i used were some industrial stainless steel furniture feet. Found them on Amazon. Also getting the right angle so the rack follows the roof line is difficult as it’s done with stainless washers. Still, waaaaay cheaper than what’s on the market for a basket type rack.
