Wow those do look beefy and yes they make the other tires look small. Can't wait to see pics of them on the LC. Good Looking setup for sure!

Your local guy looks like he turned out to be Great! Now you are making me want an 80 all over again lol.. I have to admit I like that rear bumper more than the Slee. I am still in the market for a clean Low mileage Hundy as much as I want an 80 I need something a bit more practical now since the runner is being built up. Any way Keep us posted as it's Never really done is it?

I sold this guy the rock warriors and this is one of the nicest 100 series you'll see. Basically a Slee built 100 with factory rear lockers and ARB front locker.

We tried putting struts on the swing outs but the spare carrier was too heavy for them so they lasted a day. Today we welded some T handle spring pins on and they're going to work great. Should have done that the first time.

We finally got some snow here in east Tennessee today. They're predicting 6 - 8 inches this weekend here and over a foot just east of us so we'll be hitting the road Saturday morning for a ride to western North Carolina.

The 80 is gone, sold it a week ago today, now searching for another project. Went and looked at this one yesterday, looking at a mild resto on it. It's a 1982 model which is the last year the 40 was sold in the US and spent the first 30 years in Austin, TX. It's loud as hell on the inside, steering is sloppy, and the gear box makes all kind of noise but I love it. I don't know if I'll get to where I want to be on price but may give it a shot. After test driving it yesterday, I got back in my 98 4Runner and it felt like I was riding in a new Caddy.

Well here's Land Cruiser #3 since I started this thread and the last one for a very long time. This one has everything I've wanted in a cruiser so no reason to look for another one.
Here's the specs
1999 100 Series, 98,000 miles when I bought it, came from Arizona so no rust, 2" OME suspension with Slee torsion bars, 4.88 gears ( amazing how much better the gas mileage is with the lower gear set ), rear e-locker, front ARB locker, ARB compressor, ARB front bull bar, White Knuckle Sliders, Warn HS 9.5 winch, Warn driving lights, Safari snorkel, TJM rear bumper with spare swing out, 43 gallon sub-tank, new 315/75R16 BFG KO2 tires, ARB frig, custom rear storage system, 15 gallon fresh water storage with pump and spigot, full roof rack, HEO awning, CB and Ham radio.
Here's a few pics from a recent trip to the mountains of western North Carolina and east Tennessee.

then you got rid of it. Nice 100, though. I am glad it is all you want so you don't need to do anything besides maintenance and gas
