For me I think it is nostalgia. I grew up watching those movies over and over again. The original truck grew on me, so seeing a new version is kind of cool. I wouldn't call it "messing in my pants" though. Someone a lot younger (or older) than myself (35) probably wouldn't care as much.

I grew up watching this movie all the time. I still would kill for an 85 Pick Up like that. You hit the nail on the head with your explanation on why people are so excited about the truck.

Well I'm 30 so I don't know if it qualifies as much younger than you. Just don't see what the big deal is I guess. It's literally $1500 worth of parts and you could duplicate it. Now, if it had time travel capability then it'd be cool.

I think Toyotas product placement subliminally made you always want to buy a Toyota truck since you were very young and that is why you own a 4Runner. You deep down really love this truck.

I like it. If it was priced right, I could possibly see myself trading my beloved 4th gen for that Tacoma. Big fan of the Back to the Future movies as well. Always wanted a truck like that 85 as well.

I test drove a new Tacoma awhile back. It was okay, but didn't really excite me that much.

However, back in '85 as a fairly new driver, I wanted this truck.
