For me I think it is nostalgia. I grew up watching those movies over and over again. The original truck grew on me, so seeing a new version is kind of cool. I wouldn't call it "messing in my pants" though. Someone a lot younger (or older) than myself (35) probably wouldn't care as much.
Well I'm 30 so I don't know if it qualifies as much younger than you. Just don't see what the big deal is I guess. It's literally $1500 worth of parts and you could duplicate it. Now, if it had time travel capability then it'd be cool.
