Can someone direct me to how to remove the panel from the back window in a 96 4Runner please. Something came loose and the window does not go down anymore. I tried the pop-out and pull up method but it seems to no budge and im not trying to screw anything up..

The plastic panelling should be fairly easy to remove.

First, pop the little cover over the strap, there's a 10mm bolt there to remove the strap.

Once that's off, start at one of the bottom corners of teh panel with something the can slip in there and pry the corner up. Then just slide the tool along until you get to the next tab and give it a little pry and so on and so forth. It'll be tight if it's teh first time the panel is coming off, but it should be too bad. Once the bottom and both sides are popped out, you just slide the panel up toward teh window and it should come right off.

Once the plastic panel is off, you'll see 2 black metal panels with more 10mm bolts. Just go to town on those and pop the 3 or 4 plastic tabs. Just find something to hang the corner of the bigger panel with (like a short bungy cord or metal coat hanger) so you don't have to unhook all of the electronic stuff for the lock/window/wiper.

You should have good access to have a look at the window parts after that.
