'backdoor' indicator switch '94 4runner

Anybody know exactly where the switch is that triggers the 'Backdoor' indicator light?

'Backdoor' light comes on when window is full up and goes off when I toggle the rocker switch to bring the window down and right back up. The indicator light does not come on anymore when the window goes down, but it does come on when I drop the tailgate.

I'm assuming a switch is bad but the manuals I have don't go into the detailed operation of the back door. I only see one switch that is triggered by the up and down position of the lock but I don't understand how that works in conjunction with actually dropping the tailgate.

Between dealing with broken defrost connectors and this that backdoor is becoming a real headache.

Make sure that when you roll the window up the back door automatically locks. If it does not lock then that is why the light is still on.

Back door light.

I have an `88 4Runner and there are 3 pins or switches on the back door. One is for the lock. If it doesn`t come up all the way the light will come on. The other 2 ore in the side of the tail gate inside the latch. If the tailgate isn`t shut correctly or one of the switches fail the light will come on. I figured this out one day when tail gate wasn`t shut properly and the light would flash with acceraltion.

mechanically everything works. My light doesn't come on when the window goes down. The light does go on when the tail gate is opened.

So where is the switch that triggers the 'backdoor' light when the window goes down?

I see the switch that is triggered by the lock, and I'm assuming the switch(es) for opening the tailgate is in the actual latches...
