Backed my GF's 02 Limited into a parking garage :(

So, lucky me. I was driving my GF's 02 limited to class yesterday and I was backing into a space and just my luck - there was a strange angled piece of concrete behind me which the driver's side bumper end cap was lucky to hit. So now I dented in that end cap. Took it to a body shop and its gonna cost 260 to replace. Part is 109. Does this sound about right to replace this?

Its literally just replacing the end cap on the rear bumper. That is - the bumper has three pieces - left right and center. The center being the most expensive. This is the part of the rear bumper that butts up against the wheel flare. It is too dark now to take a picture...

On my 97 4R the dealer replaced the end cap at $60 + labor and the rear main beam (bumber) for $250. all together. So thats over 300. for the job to replace what was just a dented end cap however if you look the main bumber may be twisted and will need replaced to fix the cap. At least this is what happened to my 4R lucky for me it was like that when I bought the thing and I made the dealer fiix it before I bought it.

Its not a chrome one - its a body color matched one. So it needs to be painted.

all body-color pieces on 3rd gens are painted chrome. when manufactured, every piece is made in chrome, then some are painted body-color.

Get a used cap. Can get them very cheap. Easy to replace. Be sure you know what type of flares you have (none, small, large). The caps have different holes.

I think this is incorrect, on 4Runners with body colored bumpers trim etc, the panels come painted in primer, not chrome plated.

This 4runner, considering this thread is from 2004 also, may still be going. I'd be willing to guess the OP and his GF at the time aren't together anymore....
