Backspace Question

I am close to buying new rims for my truck. But I would like to try and get a basic of idea about how far the rims will stick out. Due to the fact I have no clue how to do any kind of rim math I am in need of assistance. So here is my question.... How for will a 15 x 8 rim with a -27mm Offset, 3 7/16" Backspace stick out compared to my stock 95 4runner rims? 31x10.50 tires if that helps any. Thanks for any help.

Thanks,

I'm guessing your wanting the look of a wider stance. I'd stick as close to the factory wheel as possible. A 10.50 tire is gonna stick out a little wider than factory. When you start stancing the wheels out, you really start putting a strain on your suspension. Then you've got premature part failuer, and thats just money and time that could be spent enjoying it. Just my .02

Well I plan to move up to 32x11.50s at some point so moving up to 15x8 rims is gonna happen I am more concerned about eating up the fresh paint on the rocker panels of my truck. Just trying to get a general idea of how the measurements for that particular rim would stick out. Due to not being able to find anyone that is running them.

How about this - take a wheel off of your truck, measure the backspace and offset, and compare the measurements.
This may help you.
