Backup Cam Wiring question

I've done several searches but I can't seem to find really good instructions that show wiring the backup cam to the HU. I'm hoping to do it this week or next and was just hoping someone could give me a little extra guidance.

I believe I'm good on the rear part of the install. But I'm just wanting to make sure I'm understanding how to install to the HU.

I know that I'll just plug and play the video jack, but where do I connect the trigger wire that will make the HU display the rear view when put into reverse? Do I just connect a wire to that on the back on the HU and run it over to the reverse light wire under the driver side kick plate?

Just so you know what I'm dealing with, I am using

As I said earlier, I think I'm good on the rear portion of the install, I just need a little extra help for the front install. If someone knows of a thread that I haven't been able to find, please steer me towards it.

I actually have exactly same backup camera (Taotronics) and I really like it! I run my wire that activates camera from HU to rear right light and tapped into reverse lights wire, tapped camera wire to same source. You either have to run wire from camera upfront to kick panel or run wire from HU to rear reverse light. It works either way and takes about same time.

No, I wired trigger wire of HU and power wire to camera at the back right compartment, the one with little door where you get access to replace bulbs for taillights. Both of the wires simply tapped into positive wire of reverse bulb.

Gotcha.. That makes sense.. So in theory, if I am using the wireless system, I'll wire the camera power to the rear tail light. Then up front splice the HU wire AND the wireless power to the reverse wire under the kick plate.

That seems like it should work to me. Does that make sense to you?

I never used wireless camera but sounds like a solid plan.
