Backup Camera Blurry at Night

My new to me 2019 backup camera has a great picture during the day, but at night it look really blurry and sort of washed out. it almost looks like it's covered in water drops.

Is this normal for 5th gen 4Runners?

Might be just dust and dirt. I just got a 2023 and I noticed that the low light performance isn't very good. I have the anytime camera mod and noticed that without the rear backup lights on you can't see much. I'm planning on adding some rear floods for backup lights to improve the view.

The backup camera in our 2013 SR5 is just awful. It is washed out in daylight and barely visible at night. I don't even look at anymore. It appears anything attached to the infotainment system or display is just crap. Other makers of cars I've driven have much better cameras - so I guess Toyota just doesn't care or think it's important to make better. However, if I had to pick one thing for Toyota to drop the ball on - the infotainment / camera / Nav setup would be it, as the rest of the vehicle is great. Well maybe bring back the V8!

My rear bumper blocks my camera with the swingout but it was garbage day 1.

We had a customer get the ICS 3rd brake light mount and replaced the factory 3rd brake light with a Baja Designs S2 work scene light and an Evil Manufacturing HD camera with true night vision camera with programmable backup lines.

SUPER Clean setup
