Backup Camera/Free XM Radio

I bought my T4R in Nov of 2013. It was used with 17k on it. I think it was a rental.

I have been kicking around putting in a backup cam and had a few questions for folks who have them OEM.

My main question is do I need the NAV system to have an OEM camera installed or does the image show up in the rear view mirror?

I don't know exactly why, but when I bought my T4R, the XM was active and I have been driving a year and a half without paying a dime or anything which is more of a value to the MRS. and myself since I can rock kidsbop 24-7 when the children are riding.

Are there any really good after market back up cams I should be looking at? I wouldn't mind using something that connects to my Iphone via Bluetooth if that is even out there.

Any advice or comments appreciated.

This is totally a guess but I wonder if the previous owner is still paying for it and either forgot or hasn't removed that head unit ID from the account.

I don't know about wiring or if sr5 mirrors have the harnesses and have the screen in them or not, but if the harness is there it would be cheapest to go to a junkyard and get a mirror from a TE because as far as i know they have them in the mirror, you don't need to upgrade to a nav system

The SR5 with the backup camera showed the image in the mirror but I'm not sure if there are mirrors that don't have the screen in them. Antman did a post where he showed how to tap the backup camera from the mirror input to run to a headunit. This might be one easy way to find out if the mirror is wired up for it. Should be as simple as dropping the overhead console and checking out the mirror connection
