Backup Camera Install Input?

I ordered a backup camera the other day and it just got delivered- it is this one here: Amazon.com: Koolertron Rear View License Plate Backup CMOS Camera: Car Electronics

I saw this and thought to myself "oh that's pretty cool, infrared for night time and the grid lines on the camera, for $15 why not?"

It mounts to the license plate, where a license plate frame would go. I knew the wiring would be a challenge due to the rear lift gate, so I'm wondering from those of you who have either installed a backup camera or have taken the rear lift gate apart-
What is the best way to wire this?

The only way that I can see this working is if i pull the latch, and squeeze the wire in past it and then re install the latch for the lift gate, then run the wire around the window and then through the grommet into the truck. After that it's cake.

I have the exact same camera on my set up. It's an alright camera. Sucks at night time unless you have back up lights. It says it works at night but not so much. But but during te day time it's great!

Some things that have broken over te 2 years I've used it were the adjustment screws get rusted and the plastic teeth that hold te camera up get broken and it just falls down. Not very sturdy.

But other than that it's good and very nice camera for $15! (I paid $20 for mine).

Running the camera through the rear hatch rubber grommet was the worst part. Those RCA and power cables do not want to fit. Wd40 helped slide them inch by inch. I also used a coat hanger to get the wires ran down the rear pillar of the hatch. Then looped them around the window wires and ran it out the back to the license plate.

As a warning with this type of camera police hate them (every time) I've been stopped they make a comment about my camera because it covers up the state name.

So really if you have any more questions let me know. Ill see if I can pull up some pictures to show you how I wired it and what not.

When you say behind the license plate- do you mean that there is a space behind the plate itself and I DON'T have to pull the latch apart to run the wire through there? that would make this significantly simpler and I would be less concerned about pinching the wire next to the latch or having water get into the door.
