$508!! For about $35 worth of parts from Napa, and 1 hr of labor for a first timer.
Chances are, you didn't even need a new cap or thermostat. If the belt to the water pump was gone, that alone would have done it. Could have saved about $350 if they only would have done the belt.

hodgepodge79 said:Pull your dipstick and oil fill cap and check the condition of the oil. If it looks like chocolate milkshake (or coffee with tons of cream), then you have coolant in your oil.
