Bad Service... No oil change till 10k?

I take my shit to the dealership.. They do what I ask. I hold them accountable for things broken..immediately. I make them document any issue that I have each time even if they come back with no issue found (see rattling sunroof).
I suppose some dealerships are much worse than others but I've never encountered a situation where a business clearly in the wrong failed to remedy an issue.
I had no issue with my 5k. Only thing the dealer did was inform me that the oil change would be out of pocket. They even snagged an oil sample for me to send off.
I could care less if the macho 4runner crowd thinks me a fool for having someone else do my oil changes. I have other things I'd rather be doing than changing oil.... I have two classics I already maintain and play mechanic with.
I know 5k is not required or recommended but simply put I want it changed every 5k. No science behind my request at all and I am perfectly ok with that.

Yes because Amsoil is way cheaper than synthetic.....
Lol, I'm saying that I use Amsoil and actually use it to it's desired mileage intervals. Why use synthetic if you are changing it every 5K? Just doesn't make much sense to me.

My Blackstone Labs reports have always come back with excellent results and the suggestion to extend out to 15,000 being supported by the results (meaning, the oil analysis supports using a 15,000 change interval vice the 10,000 currently being used).
I was about to do an oil change today at 5k and had spend a good amount of time like others looking for the filter and plug. the plug was easy but i was scratching my head on the filter.
Then i had checked to book and we fall under the normal driving, but couldn't find anything for our 2010 about normal or severe. BY searching here, it sounds like 10k is the norm. The oil looks good too and i know it lasts longer.
I guess i'll be changing this in the winter.

The filter is under your front "skid" plate. Buy a genuine toyota filter, the instructions for cartridge filters are on the box

Why can't people trust Toyota and that they know what proper service intervals are? These trucks are well known to be reliable and last forever. I think Toyota's engineers have service intervals better figured out than I do. I'll put my faith in them even if it seems unconventional. No harm in changing your oil sooner...just not necessary.

Except Toyota and other manufactures have proven in the past that they can mess up an engine design. In early 2000's a Toyota engine had lots of complaints about sludge. Took several years and lawsuits for Toyota to settle. Plus every manufacturer wants to tell customers that maintenance cost is low so intervals may get extended past what the design engineer wanted. No way to know who or how the interval gets decided on. I prefer to change mine earlier and not wind up in a mess later on.
