Got my replacement feet in earlier this week after getting on the recall list back in June. I was able to replace each foot one at a time by myself tonight without much fanfare (other than scraping off the old sealant and replacing it with new). The directions are unclear as to which side should be facing up on the mounting bracket (the part you install into the well of the roof line) and the picture wasn't much help. I installed them with the foam side up since to me that seemed the most logical way to ensure the rack brackets seated firmly. Chances are someone here will tell me that was wrong, but screw it, it's installed and doesn't go anywhere, so I'm leaving it.
Fortunately my 4Runner suffered no damage to the roof as a result of the faulty feet, but to be fair, the damage assessment hit the forums before I could put any weight other than a full gas can on the roof. This probably spared me the roof damage that others have been experiencing.
